Moving Freely
A Dialogue on Physical Activity and Safety in Public Space
Join us for an open conversation about what it means to feel safe, supported, and free to move while being active in Utrecht’s public spaces.
On 1 October, just ahead of the Singelloop Utrecht – the city’s iconic running race – Run Her Way, Gemeente Utrecht and Utrecht in Dialoog invite you to a community dialogue exploring physical activity and safety in public space.
Whether you’re running, cycling, walking, or staying active in parks and public spaces — everyone deserves to feel safe while moving through our city. But that’s not always the case. Through personal stories and group conversation, we’ll explore how people experience physical activity in public space, how safety (or the lack of it) shapes our choices, and what each of us can do to create more welcoming environments for everyone — across genders, roles, and backgrounds.

Accessibility
The Stadskantoor (Town Hall) is most easily reached by public transport. It’s located directly across Utrecht Centraal Station. Upon entering, take the stairs, elevator, or escalator to the sixth floor. There’s no need to sign in to reception.
