DESCRIPTION:On 9th May\, Europe Day\, we will reflect together on the soul and future of Europe. Which stories do we have? Which values do we share? What does Europe mean to us now and what kind of Europe do we want for the future? In this online dialogue\, different generations discuss the values that speak to them\, share personal experiences and dreams and think about how we can bring these dreams closer. If so\, we invite you to join us in the Zoom space 30 minutes before the start of the event. \nThe soul of Europe\nIn 1950\, the Schuman declaration brought the EU into being. \nRobert Schuman: “The European collaboration and integration shall not and cannot become an economic and technical enterprise: it needs a soul\, the knowledge of its historical roots and of its responsibilities\, in the past and in the future\, and a political willingness that serves that same ideal.” \nJacques Delors: “Europe needs a heart and a soul”. “If in the next ten years we haven’t managed to give a soul to Europe\, to give it spirituality and meaning\, the game will be up”.  \nWhat is the state of Europe’s soul now? And what about the inspiration and political will for European cooperation? Where do we get to glimpse its soul and which values do we share? Has the myth of Europe become a bureaucratic project\, far removed from ordinary citizens? How can Europe inspire and allure us once again? What makes it worth your while to commit to Europe? About how others become enlightened? \nPlease note: due to the corona measures the Neude Library is closed\, therefore this dialogue will be held online.  \nWhat is a dialogue?\nIn a dialogue\, you can share your experiences and dreams in an open and in-depth conversation. At the end of the evening\, you go home with new insights and beautiful stories from those who will join you at your table. A dialogue is a conversation between different people\, in which a free exchange of ideas takes place\, which leads to new insights for those involved. Characteristically\, meanings arise that could not have been arrived at without dialogue. DESCRIPTION:On November\, St. Martin’s Day\, we meet each other online for a dialogue on Wealth through sharing. How do you share what you have or need\, and what does that bring you and others? Rich\, poor\, young\, old and everyone in between who wants to share an experience and is curious about the stories of others is very welcome! \nWealth through sharing?\nSint Maarten\, the patron saint of Utrecht\, shared his coat 1700 years ago with a beggar. Does sharing help us in today’s world on the road to a more balanced society\, across the borders of liberal economic thinking? Can we better share money (worries)\, goods\, prosperity\, and talent\, so that we are richer and can give more meaning to each other? How do you share what you have or need\, and what does that bring you and others? In this dialogue we share experiences\, good examples of sharing\, how we would like to see the future\, and contribute to this in our daily lives. \nProgram\n19:30 Welcome and inspiration\n19:45 In dialogue\n21:15 Harvest\n21:30 End \nSt. Martin’s celebration\nSt. Martin is the patron saint of the city of Utrecht. The fall of the wall in 1989 surprised many and gave hope. In 2020\, the Europe project will be on edge due to a worldwide Coronavirus crisis. What about 70 years later with the values of Europe: Democracy\, Human Rights and Independent Justice?
