Shades of Rainbow
How do cultural and sexual diversity go together? How does it color our daily life? How do you deal with obstacles? What are the dreams and hopes?
The richness of the shades of the rainbow is influenced by skin color, residency status, sexuality, culture, religion and more. This narrative is often unspoken and under-present as part of the wider gender and sexual diversity talks.
The dialogue themed ‘Shades of Rainbow’ is an invitation to exchange stories, perceptions, and experiences in celebration of sexual and cultural diversity. Tables will be available in Dutch and English. Sign up online.
15:00 Walk-in and introductions at ELe Tapas Restaurant, Oudegracht
15:15 Shades of Rainbow Story-telling by Iniyavan Elumalai
15.30 Dialogue begins with sharing experiences
16:45 Reflections and sharing insights

Utrecht in Dialoog hopes to bring together people for its rainbow dialogue series as part of the 23rd Midzomergracht Festival. Enrich yourself in talking with each other! Share your stories, experiences and learn from the experiences of others.
The Netherlands is one of the most progressive countries in the world when it comes to institutionally supporting gender and sexual equality. Do you experience barriers in achieving true social equality? How do you deal here with misconceptions or prejudices that you encounter when engaging with people from different backgrounds or religious traditions? What do you do to be truly respected as an equal?
What is dialogue?
A dialogue is a conversation in which free exchange of thoughts and ideas take place leading to new perspectives and insights. It is a collective way of deepening understanding, based upon listening and speaking from your heart.
