Ontdek De Ander en leer je landgenoten kennen! Praat en eet met mensen die je niet vanzelf tegenkomt, die in een andere wereld leven.
Op 21 mei vieren we de internationale dag van de culturele diversiteit met een feestelijke dialoogbijeenkomst in Overvecht en een Iftar om de culturele rijkdom van de stad te vieren. Met burgemeester Jan van Zanen, Halil Karaaslan, Zorgzusters Overvecht, Mohamad Alsamna (ud), Hamed Alshaabi (nij) en vele anderen.
Iedereen is van harte welkom! Er zijn ook Engelse/meertalige gesprekken en tafels alleen voor vrouwen.

Ontdek de ander
Wie is die ander die je niet spreekt, niet kent, niet vanzelf tegenkomt? En wat gebeurt er als je de ander echt ziet, ontmoet? Als je van mens tot mens in gesprek gaat, ervaringen en dromen deelt. Durf jij de ander echt te ontmoeten, te ontdekken? Open je hart, wees nieuwsgierig en ga voor ontdekking in een gelijkwaardig gesprek van mens tot mens.
Zorg voor elkaar
De Iftar wordt verzorgd door de Zorgzusters Overvecht. De Zorgzusters helpen mensen die niet in aanmerking komen voor de voedselbank aan voedselpaketten. Om deze voedselpaketten te financieren hebben ze de Zorgcatering opgericht. Uw vrijwillige bijdrage voor de Iftar is voor de Zorgzusters.

Discover the other and get to know your fellow countrymen and women! Talk and eat with people from another walk of
life – people who live in what may seem like a world apart.
On May 21, we will celebrate the International Day of Cultural Diversity with a festive dialogue in Utrecht
Overvecht. Mayor Jan van Zanen, Halil Karaaslan, Zorgzusters Overvecht, Mohamad Alsamna (ud), Hamed Alshaabi (nij) and many others will tak part. Music and an Iftar meal will complete our celebration of the cultural richness of our city.
Everyone is heartily invited to attend! There will be tables set aside for for English-speakers and speakers of other languages, as well as women-only tables.

Participation is free of charge. A voluntary donation towards the Iftar meal prepared by the Zorgzusters is gladly welcomed.
Discovering the Other
Who is the other that you don’t know, don’t meet, don’t talk with? And what happens when you genuinely see, and get to know, the other? When you get into conversation with one another, sharing experiences and dreams? Are you able to truly meet, and discover, the other? Open your heart, be curious, and go for discovery in a conversation conducted on an equal footing with others.
Caring for the Other
The Iftar will be prepared by the Zorgzusters Overvecht. The Zorgzusters help people who are not eligible for the food bank with food packages. In order to finance these food packages they run a catering kitchen. Your voluntary contribution for the Iftar will go to the Zorgzusters.
Seeing the Other
You’re also invited to visit the photo exhibition “Seeing Each Other” held for the tenth anniversary of Utrecht in Dialogue.
