SUMMARY:Training to facilitate a dialogue
DESCRIPTION:This training is aimed at people who have attended at least three dialogues\, and who would like to learn to facilitate a dialogue. Ever wonder how you can encourage an engaging conversation about sensitive topics? How you can ask the right questions\, and provide a structure that allows others to open their hearts? You will learn it during this training! To sign up\, click the red button above.  \n \nThe purpose of facilitating a dialogue is to stimulate thinking\, growth\, and change that lead to action. The more you practice being curious and asking questions with an open heart\, the more you will get positive results from your conversations with others. \nThe training\nWe invite you to take part in this English-language training session\, where you will practice facilitating a dialogue and learn about our guiding principles. During the training\, you will get to know what an engaging dialogue is\, and how it is structured. A dialogue follows four steps: 1) getting acquainted 2) sharing and exchanging one’s experiences 3) envisioning new possibilities 4) formulating concrete actions. The online training consists of a video you watch before the training and practicing facilitating in a Zoom-meeting. \nDialogue Skills\n \nIn addition\, we will be examining several skills that you can incorporate into your daily conversations with friends\, family\, or colleagues. The skills needed for  productive conversations involve committed listening and asking the ‘right’ questions. To practice these skills in-depth we will focus on the following: \n\nLearning the method of appreciative inquiry.\nWorking on the three essential skills for a dialogue: (1) committed listening\, (2) asking the right questions\, and (3) giving constructive feedback.\n\nNext step\nAfter this training session\, you can start practice facilitating a dialogue together with experienced people in the Dialogue House. You can practice running a table with a more experienced dialogue facilitator together\, or come and get further practice at one of our Dialogue House events (held the first Monday of each month at Maliebaan 45). \nCosts\nThe costs for the training are: 10€ for students/U-pas holders\, 50€ for non-students and 150€ for organizations. Women’s Day is not just about women’s role but applies to everyone who wants to contribute to gender equality. In this dialogue\, we will talk about gender roles and bias. Is it challenging to express your gender identity? How do you react to gender stereotyping in your family\, community\, workplace and society? Do you want to share your story with others and inspire people? Join us and contribute to more inclusive communities towards gender equality. \nWhat is a dialogue?\n \nA dialogue is an open conversation about experiences\, dreams and possibilities. In a dialogue you really enter into a conversation with each other and you meet people you do not normally meet. Everyone is invited to share his/her story and everyone is heard. A dialogue contributes to mutual understanding\, connection and insight. \nSince the corona crisis\, we have been talking online so that everyone can participate at a safe distance. DESCRIPTION:At the Dialogue Lab\, actively involved parties\, partners and volunteers of Utrecht in Dialogue make events together. Every third Tuesday evening of the month. We work in a blended format\, combining in person and online meetings. English speakers are also most welcome. Specify on the registration form whether you will be joining in person or virtually. Every third Tuesday evening of the month\, we work at Maliebaan45. Great if you bring your computer to zoom with those joining virtually. \nPlease note: this Dialogue Lab is online due to stricter corona measures. \nAfter the (online) workshop Organizing a Dialogue\, we work in the Dialogue Lab with experienced volunteers/stakeholders on organizing and communicating dialogue meetings in your organization\, neighborhood\, school\, sports club or district. Together we prepare (blended and online) (neighborhood) dialogues\, we put the events on the website\, we recruit participants via social media and discuss the follow-up of meetings. In the Dialogue Lab\, you can contribute ideas about meetings or series\, further increase results\, map out the impact and prepare special projects. You can also design your own meeting or series\, including preparation for communication and recruitment. DESCRIPTION:We can still take a walk in the neighborhood! Time to get out and about\, meet new neighbors and discover north-east Utrecht! In this light-hearted dialogue series Meet & Stroll\, you will meet different people from the neighborhood and discover new places as we walk together towards a new spring! \nMaking worthwhile choices\nIn this third Meet & Stroll dialogue we talk about making worthwhile choices. What makes choices worthwhile? When is it worthwhile to make your voice heard? For yourself\, for others\, for society? How do you make choices and what is important when you do? Is it the people\, the values\, past experiences\, promises for the future\, the program\, or something else entirely? The introduction and preparation via Zoom will take place on 17 March\, the day of the elections. You plan a walk at a time that suits you and your partner. \nRoutes to choose from\nA. And what would you like to know about the other person?\nYou agree to go for an in-person walk in the neighborhood with a neighbor. This stroll will take place on the following Saturday at 10:30 am.
